I originally posted this on “Tales of the Matriarch” in mid-August 2014. When writing this the first time, I had no idea I only had days left in this life with her. I have revisited this post and decided to repost on my personal page.Numbers 1-12 are from the original post. I have added some.
Enjoy 🙂
15 “Things” (traits, characteristics) that I have from my grandmother:
1. Strawberry. My grandmother LOVES anything strawberry and so do I! We have to buy one big pack or two small packs of strawberries because we run out so fast.
2. Watermelon. We can eat a whole watermelon…just us…in one day.
3. Bad knees. Not sure when her knee problems started but mine started when I tore my acl at age 13. Both knees are both bad now. Hers are too!
4. Anxiety. We both tend to freak out sometimes.
5. SVU! We both could watch law and order svu all day and have on frequent occasions.
6. Swimming! This is a hobby we both enjoy and especially together. I never knew she used to swim so much!
7. Ice Cream sno-balls. Enough said.
8. We are both extremely stubborn…this is apart of the Campbell family foundation pillars.
9. Another foundation pillar of our family most all of us have is sarcasm…and where do we get it from!??!?!
10. We love babies. I’ll admit…babies used to freak me out. But, now I love them…so does she!
11. We like to be alone, but enjoy a visit now and then.
12. We both have vivid dreams. Frequently our breakfast conversation was about the crazy dreams from the previous evening.
13. Stories. We both can tell a story or two. We also love to hear other peoples stories.
14. Being outside. The activity doesn’t really matter…swinging, walking, just sitting. We both love being outside. Our trip to the rocky’s a few years ago together is a great memory.
15. Fireworks! I learned last 4th of July that grandma enjoyed fire works. I have been fascinated by them since I was little.
