One of my favorite characters in the bible, other than Jesus, is definitely Queen Esther. Long before she was Queen she was just an ordinary Jewish girl that God chose to use in an extraordinary way. Esther wasn’t royal or special. She was simply chosen by God. Mordecai told Esther that God had put her there for “such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14) Esther was so willing to follow God’s command for her life that she was willing to die. “If I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16)
God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called. I truly pray that I can be as bold as Esther. I feel as though God is sending me to Peru for “such a time as this.” I am excited to see what he has in store for myself, my team, and Peru!
God has blessed me with the opportunity to lead a team this summer to Cajamarca, Peru. Our team, so far, consists of 8 ladies plus myself. We will be joining a local missionary named Pastor Helmer and his church Mount Zion.
Our main focus is children’s ministry through sports, vacation bible school, evangelism, and sharing testimonies. This will be done in Cajamarca and the surrounding villages. Our goal is to make disciples and to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
First, I am asking you to pray for this mission. Please pray as I lead, pray for the team, for Mount Zion, and pray for revival in Cajamarca. Please also pray for safety and health of the team. If you would be willing to pray for me while I am preparing to lead and while I am gone please let me know and I can add you to my prayer warrior list.
Second, I must raise $2,000 which covers my plane ticket, ground transportation, food, accommodations, translators, and all other expenses for the entire 36 days I will be gone. Currently I am at 30% funded. Praise the Lord! He is faithful and will provide.
