Life with Twins

Most of our friends and family have noticed that our family has grown by 4 feet in the last few weeks. Like all of our children they seem to just show up. We can’t give many details, but many people have asked me about them. So…here is what I can tell you!


The day after Ryan and I returned home from Mexico, I got a simple text. 


“There are 4 year old twin girls that need a home…are you interested?” 


Who knew one text could change your whole life. 


A few days later, we drove 90 minutes north and nervously walked into a strangers home. We were greeted by two tiny humans with big brown eyes and even bigger smiles. That first meeting we spent about an hour talking with them and watching them play. We were both instantly hooked. For the next three weekends the twins were able to come down and stay with us. I quickly fell in love. The sprinkles on the cupcake came when they came down and spent 9 days with us. We knew at that point we wanted them to become apart of our family. 


On Monday, July 30th, 2018, the twins moved home. Hopefully, for good. 


Twin 1: Cutie Pie. 
Cutie pie is the taller twin. She is quieter at first, but quickly comes out of her shell. She is mischievous, but has a giggle that melts your heart. She is the more sensitive one out of the two. She enjoys to color, dress her dolls, and play on the tablet. She is very sweet and kind.  


Twin 2: Sweet Pea. 
Sweet Pea is tiny, but don’t underestimate her. She is fiesty and full of laughter. It is rare that she is not smiling. She enjoys to sing, dance, and be wherever Mya (the dog) is. What she lacks in stature she makes up for in personality and spunk. 


In 2019, the girls will officially become Murphy’s even though they are already apart of our family. I am eagerly anticipating that day.
