I have always been intrigued by lions. They are fierce and tough. They have equal endurance and lethargy. They live in packs and protect even the young or injured.
When in Africa several years ago, I had the opportunity to see a lion up close and interact with him. I was anxious yet calm. It was crazy to be so close to such a powerful animal. The lion I was paired with, named Arian, was apart of a pride that were left for dead by poachers that killed the mama lion. The people from the national park found the lion cubs and took them in. The goal was to teach them to hunt and be able to join a wild pride as adults.
Arian and this pride were not side by side the entire time, yet I noticed that they were always aware of each other. The four near adult lions and two smaller cubs were always within eyesight of each other. At one point, Arian was farthest to the rear of the group. One of the smaller lions jumped and let out a baby simba-like roar. I thought it was cute. Arian and the other lions immediately took notice and ran to the aid of the baby. The pride circled the baby and seemed to be protecting him from the threat. The threat was eventually discovered by the guides to be a frog the baby was scared of, but the pride didn’t know that. They just protected him.
We need a pride of lions to circle little man. Not physically. (Please don’t all come to our house at once. I have piles of laundry, toys everywhere, and I’m considering taking my pants off…okay maybe not. ) We don’t need people to physically encircle little man, but we do desperately need and want our world to surround him with never ceasing prayer.
Prayer matters. Prayer can change everything. Please consider joining our pride. Join little man’s army. He needs us all to fight for him.
