I have loved you since the first time I laid eyes on you. I have held you in my arms for 526 days, but so much longer in my heart. Watching you grow has been the greatest joy of my life. Your smile reaches straight to my heart. You are truly the greatest gift I have ever received.
I never thought this day would come. Today is the day that I became your mama and you finally became my son legally and forever. Our journey to this point has been so long. There were so many hard moments and days. Every ounce of pain is worth it. You will always be worth it.
This journey was a battle. Through so many obstacles including a pandemic that tried to delay this day, we made it! With its victory we can close the chapter that was so often tear stained and hard. Life will not always be easy. As you grow, you may have questions and hard feelings. While it won’t always be easy, we will always be together. Your dad and I will always love and fight for you until you can pick up your own sword. Your life is truly an example that God is in control, he has plans better than our own, and he answers our prayers.
In this next chapter together, my hope is that we raise you to always show kindness and respect to others, to help those in need, and to always give more than is expected of you. May you always give everything all that you’ve got; because if it’s worth having, it’s worth fighting for. May you know that we will always and forever be on your team. May you always know you are loved relentlessly.
This life with you is a beautiful life. It is one full of love.
